Use the skills with Foundation

Five open-source skills that make your AI assistant work like a feasibility consultant, using your real Foundation project and its calculations.

A skill is a folder of instructions (and sometimes scripts) that your AI assistant loads when a task calls for it. Ours teach the method a professional uses: where to look for costs, what lenders check, how to price, and how to write a plan an investor will believe.

The skills are free and open source: github.com/mamarexa/foundation-skills.

Install the skills

For assistants that support skills (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and others):

npx skills add mamarexa/foundation-skills

In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, download a skill folder from the repository, zip it, and upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills.

Ask for the work

For example:

I want to open a specialty coffee shop near Leeds station, about 30 seats, opening next spring. Build the feasibility study in Foundation and tell me if it's viable.

The assistant asks a few questions only you can answer, researches the rest, fills in your project and reads the results back to you.

Why the connection matters

When Foundation is connected, the skills never let the assistant calculate financial results itself. NPV, IRR, payback and break-even always come from Foundation's engine, the same numbers you see in the app. The Word and PowerPoint skills go one step further: the assistant writes placeholders such as {{results.npv|money}} and a script fills in the engine's figures, so a typo can't change a number in your plan.

Every input the assistant enters carries a note saying where it came from: you, a real quote, an industry benchmark, or its own estimate. Open any table in the app to check them.
