MCP tools
MCP server
Foundation's MCP server lets an AI assistant read and work on your projects. Every tool, what it does, and its parameters.
Server URL: https://getfndtn.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP, OAuth sign-in with your Foundation account). Setup for each assistant is in Connect your AI.
Every tool works only on projects in the signed-in account. No tool accepts a user ID or email: the account always comes from the sign-in.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_projects | Every project in your account, newest first. |
get_project | The full contents of one project: overview, costs, revenue, assumptions, market size and competitor benchmark. |
describe_categories | The cost categories Foundation knows, with the exact column names each one accepts, and the business-type presets. |
compute_feasibility | Runs the calculation engine and returns every result. Can test different assumptions, prices or costs without saving anything. |
compute_scenarios | Worst, base and best cases side by side. Nothing is saved. |
create_project | Starts a new project from a business type and currency. |
update_overview | Changes fields of the Project Overview. |
set_active_categories | Switches cost categories on or off. |
update_line_items | Replaces all rows of one cost or revenue category. |
update_ingredients_recipes | Replaces the ingredient list or recipes of a restaurant or café project. |
update_assumptions | Changes financial assumptions such as the tax rate or discount rate. |
update_cost_split | Sets how much of a cost category is fixed and how much is variable. |
update_market_sizing | Saves TAM, SAM and SOM, each with how it was calculated and a source. |
update_competitor_benchmark | Replaces the competitor benchmark grid. |
generate_business_plan | Drafts a business plan with Foundation's low-cost model and saves it to the project. |
delete_project | Deletes a project permanently. |
The reference pages show each tool's description and parameters exactly as the server defines them, so they stay in step with the server.
Conventions
- Amounts are in the project's currency. Where a column definition says "Rial", it means the project's currency.
- Running costs are monthly. Foundation turns them into yearly figures.
- Every revenue row needs a
pricingMode:unit, commissionorsubscription. - Put the source of each number in the row's
notesfield.
